Description
The Smart-Bit Structural Depth Setting Collar for use with Smart-Bit Structural Forstner Bits. This tool is customizable. The collar is universal and fits 3 different sizes of Forstner bits.
The Smart-Bit Structural Tool is designed for pre-dilling and countersinking structural screws in wood and structural composite lumber. Used for screw installations in framing lumber, pergolas, exposed beams, decks and more.
The collar serves to protect the wood and prevent marring
Compatible bits:
- 18mm Forstner Bit for the Starborn Structural F19 & Structural F23 stainless steel screws
- 20mm Forstner Bit for the Starborn Structural F23 screw (epoxy version)
- 22mm Forstner Bit for the Starborn Pro Plug System for Structural Composites and Wood
Use Instructions:
- Align the Depth Setting Collar with the groove on the corresponding Forstner bit and tighten the set screw until the assembly is secure.
- Predill into the wood/composite material until the collar stops spinning. Remove any debris from the tool.
- Drive the screw until it is fully installed, being sure to not overdrive
