Best Method for Installing AZEK® Decking

One of the most common questions we field at Manasquan Premium Fasteners is, "What is the best way to fasten down AZEK Decking?" While some of AZEK's deck boards are now grooved due to the acquisition of TimberTech Decking by AZEK's parent company, the vast majority are still non-grooved. This poses a problem for deck builders looking to use a hidden fastener system.
We recommend the Pro Plug System by Starborn Industries (shown in the video below). The Pro Plug System is a plugging system for AZEK decking available with either epoxy-coated steel screws or stainless steel screws for installations where corrosion is of particular concern. Simply use the Pro Plug Tool for PVC to drive in the screw. The built-in clutch driver automatically disengages when the screw reaches the perfect depth, preventing over-driving and stripping of the screw heads. Then, simply hammer in the plug. No pre-drilling or gluing is required.
